ソウル, R&B ミュージック　1980年代～90年

1980年頃からは、シンセサイザーが普及し、サウンドはこれまでのソウルミュージックから一変します。
またヒップホップが急速な発展を遂げた時期です。
80年代後半～はテディ・ライリーが始めたニュー・ジャック・スウィング（New jack swing,ＮＪＳ）が一気に広がり、ジャム＆ルイス、ＬＡ＆ベイビーフェイスも活躍。時代はプロデューサー主導になっていきます。
