ソウル, R&B ミュージック　1960年代～80年

1960年～は、ソウルミュージックが急速に発展し、人気スターが次々と現れた時代です。
1970年頃からは「スライ＆ザ・ファミリーストーン」や「ジェイムス・ブラウン」などファンクに火がつきました。
それと同時に「マーヴィン・ゲイ」や「ダニー・ハサウェイ」に代表されるジャズ的要素を取り入れた”ニュー・ソウル”という新しい形態の音楽が発展し、ソウルミュージックの幅は大きく広がっていきます。
